Indonesian products can be overpriced in touristy places. They are bought from artisans and sold in shops in places like Ubud, Sanur, or Seminyak with very highly marked up prices. Rents in these places are extremely high, for example in Legian, renting a space can cost up to 30.000/year, in Sanur, 20.000/year, and in Ubud 10.000/year.
The products I sell here are picked form artisans that I know or from the places I travelled, and this shop is a way to introduce Indonesian handmade items to wider audience. I hope you can find the items you like, with more reasonable price. Please visit our facebook page and blog at alusIndonesia.blogspot.com and etsy shop for regular updates, or simply drop us an email at alusbatik@gmail.com
